Throughout the Training Season the co-operation of the
20th Battery, R.. has been of the utmost value and the present
efficiency of the Battery is in a large measure the result of the
assistance given by the Officers, Warrant Officers and N.C.Os of
this Battery.

Strength. Numbers have remained at approximately 2 Officers
and 30 Other kanks but I believe recent action should tend toward
an increase. A large percentage of men are from the Navy and army.
who are time expired and engaged in the Government Sanitary
Department. They are excellent material, are able by reason of their
avocation to get away for training and are already imbued with that
sense of discipline so difficult to inculcate under purely
voluntary conditions. I believe if the unit was embodied, it would rapidly reach a high state of efficiency both discipline and the
technical work it would be called on to carry out.
Training. A start was made on /A Searchlights but
difficulty was experienced in getting to various places where
equipment had been installed. For this training, team work is
essential and the presence of all members of a detachment at a
series of progressive trainings is difficult to ensure. I do not
believe we can carry out this training unless there is a set close
to Headquarters which is unlikely owing to lack of space,
unsuitability and other factors. However the main essentials of
A/A Searchlights are similar to Do fonce Lights inasmuch as they
involvo an internal combustion ongino, generator and arcs and I
believe that we could achievo efficiency in this work in the event
of Mobilization when we should have the unit for sustained and
continuous training.
Camps. Two week-end trainings at Stonecutters and Pak Sha
Wan respectively have been carried out and the Lights at Belcher's
manned during the Combined Operations.
